"As a widow in my 50s, I felt so blessed when I met my future husband Gerry, whom I married at age 60 and who I just celebrated my 25th wedding anniversary with on October 7. Before our wedding, we both went for physical exams. We had a joyous wedding day before heading to our honeymoon. The day we returned I received a call from my doctor, who asked if I could come in ASAP. He told me that my mammogram revealed breast cancer and that I would have to start radiation right away. Luckily, the cancer was caught very early - the tumor was just the size of a pencil eraser. I get terrified every time I get my mammogram, but have been blessed to be cancer-free for 25 years!

This cape celebrates hope for others who may be going through treatment and feel scared and alone. I hope this piece evokes joy and peace."
